TReeBee® is a self organizing wireless network with ultra low power consumption for various sensor applications especially in the sectors of transportation, energy, industry and security. The network is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee® standard.
It interconnects small TReeBee® radio units to exchange position, status, sensor and control information. These radio devices already include typical sensors and offer various standard interfaces for additional external sensors and actuators.
By using advanced power saving mechanisms, they can be operational for years without external power supply or battery recharging.
Due to its design the units are universal and flexible to be used in
versatile applications, not limited to typical railway purposes. |

> New Contract at Metro Munich
|
|
|
TFK got a new contract to supply a high performance radio communication system for broadband data transmission from metro trains.
This contract is for the delivery of further TRainCom® MT vehicle radio installation sets to equip 68 existing metro trains of the type A of Munich Metro.
This contract brings up the number of TRainCom® equipped Munich Metro trains to a total of 125. The existing trains will be fitted step by step with the high performance TRainCom® MT radio communication system to ensure constant transmission of several simultaneous data services.
Significant for this project is the combined transmission of data for telematic applications, as well as a new passenger information and infotainment system (i.e. passenger TV), that should help to optimize train operation, but also improve passenger comfort.
Nevertheless also live video from cameras installed in the trains, should be transmitted via the radio system to the control center of Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) for evaluation.
The entire radio system shall be installed in several installation phases and gradually contribute to safe railway operations. With user data rates of over 25 Mbps per train, the broadband radio system still offers reserves for future new applications.

Sensitive electronic components and PCB board manufacturing processes require a seemless condition analysis and monitoring throughout the entire production phase.
For the internal quality management, a certification according DIN EN ISO
9001 and DIN EN ISO 13485 and as a proof of quality for its customers, Tectronic

GmbH has asked for a flexible wireless solution to connect various sensors within its production plant
with a central quality management server and monitoring system.
The current sensors are for power supply, temperature and humidity.

> TFK at ITCS
|

TFK presented its broadband radio solutions during the recent ITCS Workshop in Hannover on March 23th & 24th and gave a presentation about broadband radio applications in public transport systems.
The ITCS (Intermodal Transport Control System)-Workshop is supported by the Association of German Transport Companies - VDV to inform its members about innovations and experiences for various aspects of traffic control systems.
A wide audience of public transport operators and relevant industrial suppliers has taken notice of the improvements and upcoming trends for broadband communications.
