Voice Communication (VoIP)

Voice-over-IP (VoIP) is a new technology to seamlessly integrate analogue voice communication into a digital data network. Therefore, VoIP communication channels can be easily implemented as a data service of the TRainCom® radio system to support audio information.

A combination of TRainCom® radio systems and a PABX system with standard VoIP technology can be used to realize digital voice communication for all operational voice applications (e.g. communication between driver and control center or for passenger emergency phone).

Advantages:

  • Reliable communication channels in the case of an emergency operation
  • Uninterrupted communication between driver/ controller/ operations control center
  • Optional usage for passenger announcement systems
  • Back-up communication system for conventional voice radio systems (e.g. TETRA)
