Components

TRainCom® radio systems mainly comprise the following components:
Stationary equipment: track-side or centralized

The CRCU manages an entire TRainCom® radio system, which is divided into different logical areas. Such logical areas (e.g. metro lines) are controlled by a DRCU. One DRCU is assigned to one logical area and facilitates the complete data throughput for it. Each logical area can consist of up to 250 radio base stations, which are installed alongside the track at a distance that enables complete radio coverage of the track.

Mobile equipment: on train or vehicle

Mobile radio system (MRS) comprising:

The MRS is the TRainCom® system part on board a train. It consists of the mobile system transceiver (MST) and the MRCU. The MRCU controls all the data input and output on board and provides the user interface for all applications on board.
